What we like
Watch out for
The Duke 390 is KTM's sharpest tool in the sub-500cc drawer. It's also one of the most exciting motorcycles you can own in India without spending lakhs on a premium import. The 399cc single-cylinder motor is tuned for torque delivery rather than raw top-end power, making it tractable in the city and genuinely rapid when you push it on open roads. The chassis is taut and responsive — corner entries are precise, mid-corner feedback is honest, and exits are planted. The SuperMoto mode disables rear ABS, adding a dimension of playfulness that most street bikes at this price refuse to entertain. It's not perfect — single-cylinder vibes are real, the pillion seat is punishing, and the stock exhaust is muted — but for a rider looking for the most dynamic street experience under ₹3 lakh, the Duke 390 has no equal.
